What actually happens in a Synergize Inc interview

What actually happens in a Synergize Inc interview

Interviews are strange by design. You get about an hour to judge a company that has had years to prepare its answer. We would rather you walk in already knowing how ours runs, because a candidate who has read this and still wants the conversation is a much better use of everyone's afternoon than one who is guessing.

Stage one, a short phone call

The first call is brief and it is mostly us listening. What are you doing now, what are you looking for, what would make a job worth leaving your current one. If you applied through a job board and cannot remember which listing it was, say so. Our roles are posted under Synergize Inc and through partner boards, so the name that reached you may not be the one on our door, and it is a fair thing to ask about.

Stage two, the in-person conversation

This happens at our Rancho Cordova office, and you should treat the office itself as part of the information. You are meeting the people you would work with, in the room where the work is coordinated. We will walk through the role in detail, the nonprofit partners you would represent, what a normal day looks like, and where the work happens.

Ask hard questions here. Ask who you would report to and meet them if they are in. Ask what happened to the last person in the role. Ask how many people started in the last six months and how many are still here. A company that flinches at those questions has told you something.

Stage three, seeing the actual work

Reading about face to face outreach and watching it happen are different things, and plenty of people find they do not want it once they have seen it. That is a good outcome, found early. You spend time with the team in the field, watch how the conversations go, and see the parts of the day nobody puts in a job ad.

What we are actually assessing

Not polish. Not a perfect resume. Whether you can hold a conversation with a stranger without either performing or shrinking, whether you take a correction and use it the same day, and whether you show up. Those are the three that predict how this goes, and none of them are things you can revise for the night before.

Before you accept anything

Get the specifics in writing. The role, the reporting line, the schedule, the location, and the compensation terms for your particular position. Read it properly and ask about anything that is unclear before you sign, not after. That is ordinary advice for any job offer anywhere, and any employer worth working for expects you to follow it.

If you have a question this does not answer, call the office at (916) 530-2411 and ask. We would rather answer it now than have you find out later that this was not the right fit.

Still have questions about Synergize Inc.? Who runs it, where the office is, and what the work really involves, all answered directly on our questions page.
